Covid-19: Boston Beer, Makers Of Sam Adams, Dogfish Head, Lost $14 Million To Pandemic
Boston Beer, the makers of Sam Adams, said COVID-19 has cost the company $14 million in lost revenue and surprise pandemic related expenses.
In its earnings report Thursday, July 23, owners outlined where the money went:
$5.8 million in keg return revenue;
$8.3 million in COVID-19 related direct costs;
$5.6 million materials cost
$2.7 million operating expenses.
Owners said that despite pandemic-related losses, Boston Beer is on track to have a good rest of 2020.
