3 Fairfield County Schools Put On Lockout After A Man With Gun Reported In Area
Several Fairfield County schools were put on lockout after two people were reported arguing, one with a firearm, in the area.
The incident took place in Bridgeport, around 11:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 24, in the 1200 block of State Street.
Bridgeport Police responded to the area after the city's 911 Center received a call reporting two people arguing with one person with a firearm, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport.

Connecticut officials are offering a $50,000 reward in the 2011 double homicide in Fairfield County that left a man and woman in their 20s dead.
On Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, the Norwalk Police Department responded to the incident that occurred on Avenue B in Norwalk.
Rickita Smalls, age 22, and Iroquois Alston, age 27, both of Bridgeport, were found dead in a small dark car awkwardly parked on Avenue B, said Norwalk Police Lt. Terrence Blake.

It's been nearly eight years since two area residents were shot to death while they sat in a car on Avenue B in Norwalk.
And although the case is cold, it's still active. That's why the Norwalk Police Department, along with the State of Connecticut is offering a $50,000 reward for information to solve the double homicide.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Robert L. Seirup Sr. and Joan (Hedin) Seirup of Fairfield, who were married for 67 years, passed away within weeks of each other.
Robert L. Seirup Sr., a beloved local teacher and coach, died Dec. 8. His beloved wife, Joan Seirup, died Dec. 31.
Joan, who was raised in Bridgeport by Harry and Katharine Hedin, graduated from Bassick High School in 1945 and from the Scudder Business School.
