Coast Guard Member From Area, 35, Dies In Crane Accident A member of the Coast Guard from the area died in a crane accident in Alaska, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. The fatality occurred Thursday, Jan. 31 following the accident at the Coast Guard buoy yard in Homer, Alaska. Connecticut Highways Rank Among Worst In Nation, Report Says Connecticut ranks among the bottom five states in the country in overall performance and cost-effectiveness, according to this new report released by a libertarian think tank.  The Reason Foundation published its 23rd Annual Highway Report on Thursday, Feb. 8.
