POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Joseph J. Meyers, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, died Sunday, June 12. He was 73.
Born March 1, 1943, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of James and Zelma (Haight) Myers.
After 25 years of service, he retired from DeLaval in Poughkeepsie, and later went on to work at the Town of Poughkeepsie's wastewater department, where he retired with loving support after 24.5 years. He also served as the CSEA union president. He was a member of the Poughkeepsie Soccer Club and was a member and EMT with the Croft Corners Fire Department.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Clarance I. Peterson Jr., a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Tuesday, June 14. He was 92.
Born April 22, 1924, in Bridgeton, N.J., he was the son of Clarance I. and Edna Peterson.
He was employed at IBM for 25 years. He served 12 years in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Woreester during World War II, where he saw the world. After he returned from the service, he was educated in electronics and married his wife Ethel Bill.

PEARL RIVER, N.Y. – Marjorie Shirley Hardy, a lifelong resident of Pearl River, died Monday, June 13. She was 93.
Born Nov.10, 1922, she was the daughter of Joseph Hardy and Hannah O’Connor.
She was a strong and independent woman who was happy and content doing crossword puzzles, reading and knitting gifts for her family. Always meticulously kept, she moved cheerfully and unassumingly throughout her native Pearl River, talking with everyone she could at St. Margaret's Church, at the banks where she worked and at the stores she visited.

Born May 13, 1925, in Staten Island, he was the son of Myrtle Malvina Kiena and Oscar Valentine Hinz.
He was a retired special education teacher for the Hyde Park Central School District and a passionate poet, author, singer and actor. BEACON, N.Y. – Angel R. Acosta, a resident of Milford, Pa. since 2007 and formerly of Beacon, died Sunday, June 12. He was 64.
Born Dec.12, 1951, in San German, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Angel R. Acosta and Clara Ocasio.
