Tigers Claw Past Field in Baseball Tourney

The Technique Tigers, a Bridgeport-based AAU baseball team with players from Fairfield, Norwalk and Westport, went 7-0 last weekend to win the Pappi Palooza Festival in Rehoboth Beach, Dela. The players are ages 13-and-under.

The Tigers outscored opponents 80-19 to win the tournament, and hit 13 home runs. The Tigers' pitching staff picked up 33 strikeouts in seven games.

There were 13 teams in the tournament. The Tigers defeated Maryland Baseball Academy, 6-4, in the title game. Teams from Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey were included in the 13-team field.

Members of the Tigers are Joe Nemchek, Jordan Pettway, Joshua Rodriguez, Dino Digirolomo, Travis Jenkins, Nick Maini, Kris DiCocco, John Natoli, Dave Balunek, Marco Latella, Frank Puglia, Mike Cowell, John DelVecchio Jr., Marcus Nieves and Matt Coyle. The team is coached by Vinne Arjune, John DelVecchio Sr. and Daren Jenkins.
