Senators Lose on Late Goal

Brian Bacarella’s second goal of the game with 4.2 seconds left lifted St. Joseph to a thrilling 7-6 victory over Brien McMahon in the boys lacrosse opener for both teams Wednesday night.

The Senators led 4-3 at halftime, but trailed late in the game when Sam McCormack scored 36.2 seconds left to tie the game at 6-6. Jake Conroy had two goals for the Senators, while Gus Watson and Louie DiGiacomo had one each. Pat Mulligan also scored a pair for St. Joseph.

”I thought they played hard,’’ McMahon coach Mike Epstein said. “It was a good game. They made a play when they had to.”
