Suspect Hit With Stun Gun During Norwalk Arrest

NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk man was hit with a stun gun when police responded to a domestic dispute on West Cedar Street late Sunday night, police said.

Norwalk Police received a call from a West Cedar Street resident that a family member, Christopher Cannizzaro, 54, of Norwalk, showed up at his house and began an argument, according to police reports. Cannizzaro acted “belligerent,” and banged his own head against a wall, according to the report.

He then left the house briefly, and returned with a large bump on his head, police said. Cannizzaro then told the relative that he was going to blame the injury on the relative, according to police reports.

Officers arrived on the scene and found Cannizzaro in a set of bushes outside the home. When confronted by police he approached them with clenched fists, police said. He was then hit with a Taser after warnings to stop, according to police report. He continued to struggle and threatened police while he was arrested, police said.

Cannizzaro was charged with a breach of the peace and interfering with police. He was held on a $7,500 bond, and taken to court Monday morning.
