Bullets Hit SUV In South Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. – Shots were fired in South Norwalk early Thursday, Norwalk Police said. Bullet holes were found in a vehicle, but police do not know who the intended target might have been, said Sgt. James Walsh.

Two callers reported hearing six or seven shots in the area of Sheridan Street and Woodward Avenue at 12:10 a.m., Walsh said. One witness said she heard a car speeding away but didn't see anything; another witness said a dark gray car went northbound on Woodward Avenue.

Police found a green Ford Explorer with two bullet holes, Walsh said. There were three shell casings on the road. Police called the owner of the vehicle, who said he heard the shots but didn't see anything.

Another witness said he saw three male subjects running away but that could have been unrelated, Walsh said.
