Michael John Keating, 67, Norwalk Native

NORWALK, Conn. -- Michael John Keating, a Norwalk resident, died on Oct. 24. He was 67. 

He was born in Norwalk on Oct. 24, 1947, son of Francis John and Eileen (Magner) Keating. 

Keating graduated from Brien McMahon High School, Boston University with a degree in economics, and received his MBA from Pace University. He worked in the retail industry as a buyer for Lord & Taylor and then as a manager at their Eastchester branch, before moving into the direct marketing business where he worked for many years. 

He then followed his passion for computers and began a career in information technology, first at Entex Corp. and then as a network administrator at Seimens, where he worked until his retirement. 

His love of water sent him and wife to Harbor View to raise their own family. Keating had a passion for photography and created art through metal sculpture and welding through the Silvermine Guild of Artists

Keating is survived by his wife, Ronnie; a son, Shaun Michael; and a daughter, Emily Marissa. 

He was predeceased last year by his son, Matthew Francis.

Calling hours will be at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk,, on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following.
