Patchy Dense Fog To Greet Commuters In Norwalk

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Patchy dense fog will blanket Fairfield County early Monday morning, reducing visibility for drivers, the National Weather Service warned.

The foggy, wet morning comes as residents braced for a chaotic commute with interruptions in train service in South Norwalk and New Haven and heavy traffic expected on I-95 after the crash Friday of two Metro-North trains.

Visibility will be reduced to a quarter mile or less in spots, the weather service warned. Drivers should be prepared for sudden reductions in visibility and use low-beam headlights.

A dense fog advisory is also in place for the waters of Long Island Sound until noon, the weather service said.

Rain, heavy at times, is possible throughout the day as well, the weather service said.
