Metro-North Derailment Slows Commute

Expect your morning commute to be more crowded and complicated. A 4:10 a.m. derailment on the Metro-North tracks will cause delays of 10 to 15 minutes going in both directions, with fewer cars per train. Additionally, express trains may be adding local stops. MTA spokesperson Dan Brucker called the derailment a "slow speed event" that resulted in no injuries. No passengers were aboard the train. "For some reason, that train just rode up over the tracks, and that was it," he said. Additionally, there will be no train service on the New Canaan branch this morning. Buses will be used instead.
