NORWALK, Conn. -- A woman was able to confront the defendant accused of kidnapping and raping her three decades ago as he was sentenced Tuesday to nine years in prison in a Stamford court, according to the Stamford Advocate.
Norwalk police charged Osvaldo Muniz, 68, in 2013 with sexual assault and kidnapping in the 1988 case. The sexual assault charges were dismissed in 2014.
The woman, speaking to the judge in court, reportedly described the incident and how she has lived in fear ever since, according to the Stamford Advocate.
Muniz was sentenced Tuesday to nine year for kidnapping, the Stamford Advocate reported.
He will also be 10 years on "special parole" after his release, said the Stamford Advocate.
