Connecticut Drops To 44th In Study Of Highway Performance

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Reason Foundation's 21st Annual Highway Report has ranked Connecticut 44th in the nation for overall highway performance and cost effectiveness on its list of highway performance for 2012.

Connecticut's highways rank 3rd in fatality rate, 45th in percentage of deficient bridges, 33rd in rural interstate pavement condition, 33rd in urban interstate pavement condition and 23rd in urban interstate congestion according to the report.

Connecticut ranked 43rd overall in 2011.

Number one on the list is Wyoming, and Hawaii came in at 50.
