NORWALK, Conn. Print journalism may be declining, but its online counterpart is alive and well. That was one of the messages Main Street Connect's managing editor for Fairfield County, Matt Zalaznick, had for students at Norwalk Community College's annual High School Journalism Symposium this past Friday. Aspiring journalists from schools all over the county attended to find out more about the industry.
Zalaznick discussed how the Internet and sites like those run by Main Street Connect are changing the face of journalism. Three different groups of students came to sessions of the discussion throughout the morning.
"One of the most important things about Web journalism that makes it different than print is that it allows people to interact a lot more quickly," Zalaznick said. "You hear people say newspapers are dying. I think there's a difference between newspapers and journalism. I don't think journalism is dying. It's definitely changing."
