Kissinger To Speak at Greenwich Luncheon

GREENWICH, Conn. – Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger will share his perspectives on the global impact of China’s emerging economy and discuss his latest book at the Family Centers luncheon on Nov. 4 in Greenwich.

Kissinger will discuss how China has the strength to overtake the U.S. as the world’s largest economy within 20 years. He recently returned from his 40th trip to China and is the author of many books on foreign policy, including “On China,” which he will discuss at the fundraiser.

Kissinger is recognized as the foremost authority on Chinese culture and economic strategy. He served as secretary of state from 1973 to 1977 under President Nixon and President Ford. He played a dominant role in U.S. foreign policy, orchestrating the opening of diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China. In 1973, Kissinger was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for negotiating the Paris Peace Accords and ending the Vietnam War.

The luncheon will take place at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4. Tickets start at $200 and proceeds will support the 30 human service and education programs run by the Family Centers, a private, nonprofit organization offering education and human services to children, adults and families living in Lower Fairfield County.

Several sponsorship opportunities – which include a semi-private reception with Kissinger – are also available. For more information and tickets, call 203-869-4848 or visit Family Centers website.
