The program, called "Not Just For Kids," will feature one-hour sets of classical music by the symphony, followed by a "petting zoo", allowing children to try their hand at playing the musical instruments.

Here are the times and locations of the event:

  • The Wilton Library at 137 Old Ridgefield Road at 10 a.m.
  • The New Canaan Library at 151 Main St. at 1 p.m.
  • The Main Branch of the Norwalk Public Library at 1 Belden Ave. at 3 p.m.

The Norwalk Symphony will also presenting its second annual Holiday Extravaganza on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 5 p.m.

The first half of the concert will be a sing-along of "The Messiah." The orchestra and soloists will be on the stage, but the audience will have the honor of performing as the chorus.

Members of the Serendipity Chorale, director Gigi Van Dyke, and David Gomez, conductor of the New Canaan High School Chorus, will be in the audience to help lead the choral singing.

After intermission, the orchestra will again host the Men's Gospel Choir of Pivot Ministries as they sing their inspirational gospel music.

The concert ends with everyone joining in the singing of traditional holiday carols.

Tickets for the Dec. 7 Holiday Extravaganza concert can be purchased here or by calling 203-956-6771. You can also purchase music for the choruses of "The Messiah" so you can sing along.

Pivot Ministries began in 1970 to address increasing drug use among teens and young adults in the Norwalk community. The Pivot Choir performs on a regular basis at several area churches.
