When on the road, pets never ask you to pull over because they're hungry, and they don't get bored and tussle with each other in the car (well, they do like to tussle now and then). And they rarely if ever tell you to change the radio station. But they do enjoy going on family trips -- and you love having them along for the ride.
You can show your friends your vacationing pet memories because you've taken a million photos, right? One of them is sure to be a winner.
AAA Southern New England has announced an open call for photos of traveling pets as part of its Traveling with Your Pet: The AAA PetBook Photo Contest. The top prize is $300, plus pet treats, five complimentary PetBooks, a $150 Best Western Travel Card and "pet supermodel status" as a cover photo in next year's edition of The AAA PetBook. The second place winner will receive $150, pet treats and two copies of the book and a picture on the back cover or spine.
Photos must feature at least one pet and have a travel theme. Entries will be judged on artistic qualities as well as the ability to convey the joy of safely traveling with a pet. Candid photos are preferred. Winning photos and those of more than 40 inspiring and amusing runners-up will also be featured on the PetBook website.
