Good health isn't restricted to the body: it includes the mind and spirit as well. On Thursday, May 19, the Pfriem Breast Care Center in Fairfield will host an open house to showcase its new women's wellness services. The event, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, will be held at the Breast Care Center, 111 Beach Road.
Participants are invited to greet wellness providers to learn about some of their new services. Among the offerings are yoga, massage, mental health counseling, naturopathic medicine, nutrition counseling and Pilates. Also on hand will be experts in plastic, breast and general surgeries.
The Breast Care Center, whose new services are staffed entirely by women, is the first community-based breast care center in Connecticut. For more than 10 years practitioners there have been helping women in the community fight breast cancer. The Breast Care Center's wellness services are part of new effort to promote overall health in women.
