Infiniti Turns Techies On

"If you're into technology, this is your car," says Devan Infiniti of Fairfield General Manager Kevin J. Hyland, who identifies with his brand's biggest fans. "Personally, my hot buttons are performance and technology." Like Kevin, Infiniti's core customers are primarily men between the ages of 25 and 35 "who have all the latest gadgets and toys."

Right now, it's the G37 Coupe that's pushing those buttons. Cabin tech includes a hard drive-based navigation system that shows live traffic and converts text to speech, reading out the names of upcoming streets. The audio system is a music lover's dream, with iPod integration, satellite radio, a Compact Flash slot, auxiliary in, MP3-capable CD player and the ability to burn CDs to the car's hard drive.

For someone who didn't plan on going into automotive sales, Kevin has a great time selling cars. "I went to school for marketing and finance, and this just kind of happened. But I have no complaints. It's a fun business."

Kevin grew up in Trumbull and will soon be raising his own family in Fairfield County. He and his wife are expecting their first child this summer, and Kevin is confident that his Infiniti will satisfy both his tech-savvy side and new-dad sensibility.

"These cars are very reliable and they handle so well," he says. "They last a long time, they never break down."

Over the next year, Devan Infiniti of Fairfield will be moving from its current Post Road location to Commerce Drive, known locally as Auto Dealership Central.

"It'll be great," says Kevin. "We need a bigger showroom!"
