Fashion Show Features Local Models

Last Friday, local ladies stepped out for a fashion show hosted by Westport retailer, Tina Dragone. As part of Southport’s Rooms with a View design event, the show brought together fashionistas from all over Fairfield County for a stylish luncheon. Tina Dragone displayed looks from casual to cocktail, all modeled by area women.

“One of the pieces I’ll be modeling,” said event chair and model Tiffany Garrity, “is this incredible Nicole Miller dress.”  The dress, a nude sheath with a black patterned lace overlay, was nothing short of stunning. And Tiffany worked the runway like a pro. “I have done some modeling before,” she said. “But this is just for fun.”

Karen Jones, the other chair of Rooms with a View, made her catwalk debut in a cozy cashmere shrug with a fur collar by Alice and Olivia. “Isn’t it gorgeous?” said Karen. “And we’re so thrilled that Tina Dragone has, for the second year in a row, agreed to host the fashion show as part of our fundraiser.”

Rooms with a View has raised more $860,000 over the last 15 years. The money is donated to the missionary work of the Southport Congregational Church, which supports more than one dozen local charities, including Horizons, Operation Hope and The Center for Women and Families.

Make-up artist Debra Hazan, of Making Faces by Debbie, made the nine models glow for their afternoon in the spotlight. “All the models are so sweet and really excited to be doing this,” said Debra. “I kept the make-up natural, and just highlighted their features. Everyone looks great.”

All the fashions from the show are available now at Tina Dragone in Westport. If you’re looking for a New Year’s Eve knockout piece, Tiffany might recommend that Nicole Miller dress she modeled. “It’s really hot!”
