Fashion Lights up the Night

The bold and the beautiful stepped out in style Thursday night for Fashion’s Night Out, the most anticipated global fashion event of the fall. Style makers across the county were out in force to support local businesses and snag deals on some of the season’s hottest looks.

Stamford’s bohemian chic set showed off their style at Abaghumi the Best of Bali, an eclectic clothing and jewelry store with a wide selection of exquisitely hand crafted and carefully chosen pieces from Bali. Bunny Sempe of Elan Salon offered feather extensions to guests and New York-based celebrity make-up artist Jennifer Snowdon lent her artistry to the beautiful faces there.

“Our involvement in Fashion’s Night Out was really fueled by watching the events in New York,” said co-owner Regina Kirshbaum. “We thought, why not Stamford? It’s an opportunity to help out neighbors and other small business owners, and to show how fashionable Stamford really is.”

In Greenwich, The Avenue was alive with music and nearly 50 models who walked an outdoor red carpet runway, showing off styles from more than 30 retailers.

“Greenwich is high fashion, but we’re small town, too. And tonight you feel that,” said Geri Corrigan, Director of Marketing for Saks Fifth Avenue in Greenwich. Saks was instrumental in organizing the town’s involvement with Fashion’s Night Out. “It’s just different than other nights. And there’s support all over town.”

Inside Saks, guests sampled dishes from China White Noodle Bar, and grooved to a live performance by local recording artist, Caroline Jones

"There was a lot of buzz," said Corrigan. "People were really looking forward to tonight. It's a huge success."
