Exercise your Memory

As our bodies age, many people will suffer from progressive memory loss, which often begins with the inability to remember simple tasks or names. But it doesn't mean all is lost. The Darien Senior Center will present a series of lectures presented by community experts in their fields, to help seniors improve their mental capacities.

Seniors can learn what areas of the brain are responsible for memory and how to keep it working well. The lectures, "Engage your Mind and Refresh Your Spirit" feature recommendations for diet, as well as current research on nutrients for memory improvement and optimal brain function.

Tuesday, October 12, the topic will be "Let's Play Jeopardy," which will be a morning of brain-teasing games designed to keep minds agile and aware. The class will be overseen by Sarah Caffery, an activity facilitator at The Greens at Cannondale in Wilton.

A complimentary lunch will follow the class. Advanced registration is required for class and luncheon, and enrollment is limited. You are welcome to attend if you are 55 years of age or older.

The Senior Center is located at 30 Edgerton St. in Darien. For information, call (203) 656-7455. Or visit the Darien Senior Center website.
