The reception typically is the first Sunday of each month. Local artist Lilly Langotsky will introduce her work from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, June 7

Langotsky was born in Shanghai, China, and graduated with her B.F.A. from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. She began her artistic career in book and magazine publishing, where she served as an award-winning designer and illustrator at Random House for more than 20 years. Throughout her publishing career, Langotsky made sure to always find time to paint, and was eventually selected for exhibition in two juried shows at the Hopper House Art Center in Nyack, N.Y.

Langotsky’s work also can be found in The Rowayton Arts Center, where she has won numerous awards, two of which were “Best in Show.” Dividing her time between New York and Connecticut, Langotsky’s paintings and ceramics additionally have been displayed at ARTworks Gallery in Norwalk, as well as Earthworks Gallery in New York. All of Langotsky’s work remains in private collections throughout the United States.

The June 7 reception will showcase some of Langotsky’s latest work, which includes painted landscapes inspired by her life in Rowayton, where she now currently resides. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served in a casual setting with opportunities to talk with Langotsky, and discuss her work.

“We are thrilled to continue displaying beautiful artwork in our office,” said Gigi Melillo, manager of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty’s Rowayton brokerage. “So far, the ‘Sundays at Sotheby’s’ series has been a great success, and I am certain that Lilly’s artist reception will once again bring the community together in celebration of creativity and the wonderful, local beauty that surrounds us in the town of Rowayton each and every day.”
