FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- You can celebrate Independence Day with the boom, pop and sizzle of fireworks right here in your backyard, with many shows offered across Fairfield County.
Danbury:
Saturday, July 5, at the Danbury Fair Mall at dusk.
Darien:
Darien High School, 80 High School Lane, on Saturday, July 5, at 6 p.m. Cost to park is $25.
Fairfield:
Fireworks at Penfield Beach and Jennings Beach on Saturday, July 5, at 9:15 p.m. Fireworks can be seen from either of these beaches as they explode from a barge off of Long Island Sound. Free. 323 Fairfield Beach Road or 880 S. Benson Road.
Greenwich:
Fireworks at at Binney Park and Greenwich Point Park on Saturday, July 5 at dusk. Free.
New Canaan:
Celebration and Fireworks at Waveny Park on Saturday, July 5, from 5 to 10 p.m. Activities include picnicking, live music, food, drink and fireworks. New Canaan Residents can purchase a pass at the Recreation Department, Police Station or the Waveny Pool.
Norwalk:
Fireworks at Calf Pasture Beach on Saturday, July 5, at dusk. There will be music and family entertainment starting at 5:30 p.m.
Ridgefield:
The fireworks show has been rescheduled to Saturday, July 12. Gates will open at Ridgefield High School at 6 p.m. and fireworks will begin at dusk. A $20 parking pass is required, which can be purchased with cash or check at the Fairfield County Bank, Town Hall, and Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce. The rain date is Sunday, July 13.
Rowayton:
Fireworks at Bayley Beach on Friday, July 4, at 9:15 p.m. Free. The rain date is Sunday. Sponsored by the Rowayton Civic Association, the fireworks will be launched from a barge. Access to parking at Bayley Beach will be according to daytime rules: vehicles with a Bayley Beach sticker will be admitted, a $25 charge will be collected from vehicles without a sticker. The parking lot is expected to fill up early.
Stamford:
Celebration and fireworks on Saturday, July 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Cummings Park. Free
Weston:
Celebration on Saturday, July 5, at Weston Middle School with fireworks at dusk. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. After 7 p.m., there will be no entry allowed from Lords Highway. School Road and Route 57 are the only entry points. No seating is allowed on the artificial turf fields. Attendees are reminded to bring chairs and blankets. 135 School Road.
Westport:
Annual Independence Day Fireworks Celebration on Monday, July 7, at Compo Beach at dusk. Ticket can be purchased at the Westport Police Department at 50 Jesup Road and at the Westport Parks and Recreation office at 260 Compo Road S. Tickets sales are limited and are on a first-come first-serve basis. Firework tickets are $35 per car.
Wilton:
Fireworks Celebration on Saturday, July 5, at 9:30 p.m. at the Wilton High School Athletic Fields to enjoy a night full of fireworks. $35 per patron pass; $20 for general admission parking.
