The Connecticut Food Bank was one of the food banks nationally that received donated meals.

The donations are part of the bank’s “Customer Experience Week” initiative, which is focused on thanking customers and recognizing colleagues for their commitment to customers.

“Serving our customers well is at the center of our culture as a company,” said Bruce Van Saun, chairman and chief executive officer of RBS Citizens Financial Group, in a statement. “We are committed to their well-being, and to the well-being of the communities we serve. With the holiday season fast approaching, this donation to feed 100,000 families in need is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to the communities and customers we serve every day.”
