I started my professional life as a research psychologist (not the "do you love your mother" kind). I enjoyed research and teaching, but noticed that I spent most of my non-classroom time writing and editing, often to help other people.

When I left academia,  all the "you should be a writer" admonitions followed me to job interviews. I've been squeezing in part-time writing and editing jobs for about 9 years, so now I am happily doing it full time.

Start Planning Early For Summer Activities At Scarsdale Fair SCARSDALE, N.Y.—The Scarsdale High School PTA has scheduled their Summer Activities Fair for Wednesday, Dec. 2. Representatives from a wide variety of exciting summer programs, including pre-college enrichment, travel, community service, internships, performing arts, sports, and specialty camps will be available to discuss their programs and answer questions. The fair is free, and the PTA urges everyone to attend. It runs from 6:40 – 9:30 p.m., in the high-school cafeteria.
