Teen Girl Falls Despite Passaic County Sheriff's Attempts To Save Her
PATERSON, N.J. - Tragedy struck Wednesday night in Passaic County when a young girl fell nearly 200 feet off a cliff in Garret Mountain Reservation despite the sheriff's department's attempt to stop her, according to nj.com. The sheriffs department responded around 6:30 p.m. after recieving reports that a young girl, around 14 or 15 years old, was threatening to harm herself, the story said. Sheriff's officers tried to grab the girl before she jumped, NJ.com reported but she died about an hour later at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center. To read the full story, go here.

LaGrange Man Charged With Sexual Abuse to a Minor
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - The Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center worked with the Dutchess County Sheriffs office in the arrest of a LaGrange man on Sept. 24, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office charged Gregorio Barbieri, 59 of LaGrange, with one count of first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, the Poughkeepsie Journal said. Ossining Officer Displays Breast Cancer Awareness T-Shirt
OSSINING, N.Y. -- As a part of the Ossining Police Department's support in the battle against breast cancer, officers are donning pink. Police Officer Addison Chavez took his support to Superman levels, donning the new pink Ossining Police Department Breast Cancer Awareness T-Shirt. The department is selling a limited quantity for $15 at the Birdsall-Fagan Police & Court Facility. All proceeds will be donated in the fight against breast cancer. WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. --Nearly 1.8 million boxes of Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios are being recalled after wheat flour was introduced into its gluten-free oat flour system at its facility in Lodi, Calif. Police Look To Public For Help In White Plains TD Bank Robbery
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- White Plains police are looking to the public for help in identifying a man who robbed a TD Bank branch Friday night. According to Lohud, police said the man entered the TD Bank branch on Central Ave. shortly before 8 p.m. and gave a teller a hand-written note demanding cash. No weapon was displayed. Brookfield Police Charge Man With Stealing Vacuums
BROOKFIELD, Conn. - Brookfield police were called to the Bed Bath and Beyond on Candlewood Lake Road after a call reporting a man had stolen vacuums from the store, according to a story in the Danbury News-Times. When officers arrived, they were told a man had stolen several Dyson vacuums and fled through an emergency exit door, the story said.
