Gioia, 48, of Hyde Park, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born Sept. 19, 1968, in Carmel, the daughter of Roger A. and Wendy J. (VanCoughnett) Mayes. She married Craig Gioia July 24, 1994, in Highland. She was a graduate of SUNY Oneonta and SUNY New Paltz, were she received her master's degree in education.
