Man Killed In Bridgeport Shooting Thursday Night BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport Police were investigating the shooting death of a man Thursday night. Av Harris, the city's director of communications, said the victim was shot once at 360 Palisades Ave. According to the Connecticut Post, the shooting occurred at 6;30 p.m. and a possible suspect was in custody at the scene less than an hour later. Norwalk Woman Who Jumped To Her Death Was Daughter Of Famous Newsman NORWALK, Conn. — The 60-year-old woman who jumped to her death from the garage at Norwalk Hospital was the daughter of a longtime television broadcaster. Norwalk police identified Mary Reasoner as the woman who died on Dec. 12 after jumping from the third floor of the garage. Her death was ruled a suicide by the state medical examiner's office. According to The Hour, she is the daughter of Harry Reasoner, who was one of the founders of CBS-TV's popular newsmagazine "60 Minutes." Firefighters Knock Down Blaze On Rockmere Avenue In Old Greenwich GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich firefighters responded to a mid-morning fire on Rockmere Avenue in Old Greenwich on Thursday.The blaze was knocked down by firefighters, according to a tweet sent out by local firefighters. Photos from the scene show firefighters walking into the home and also accessing the second story through windows.

Out-Of-State Cop Tipped Off Norwalk PD About Driver Later Killed In Crash NORWALK, Conn. — A Maine police chief who was in Norwalk as part of a Wreaths Across America convoy initially alerted Norwalk police to Brandon Dupee, who was nabbed in the city on impaired driving charges but died hours later in one-car crash with his sister Lindsay Dupee, 31, in Fairfield, police said. Westport Firefighters Tackle Dumpster Fire Wednesday Afternoon WESTPORT, Conn., -- Westport firefighters doused a dumpster fire near a Westfair Drive home Wednesday afternoon. The call came in around 2:10 p.m. with four engines, the truck company and the shift commander responding. Firefighters from Engine 5 and Engine 1 extinguished the fire in the 20-yard dumpster. The Westport Fire Marshal’s office is investigating. Firefighters remind residents and businesses that dumpsters should be placed well away from a building during construction and to dispose of any burning material in the dumpster.

Bridgeport Man Charged With DUI Six Hours Before Fatal Fairfield Crash FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A $1 million lottery winner who died along with his sister in a single-car accident early Wednesday had been arrested by Norwalk Police just six hours before the fatal crash on charges of impaired driving, police said. Brandon Dupee, 33, of Bridgeport, and his passenger, his sister, Lindsay Dupee, 31, of Stratford, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Sunfield Lane in Fairfield, police said. Norwalk Teen Charged With Stealing FedEx Package In New Canaan NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- A 17-year-old was arrested Wednesday by New Canaan Police in connection with the theft of a FedEx package from a porch on Dec. 8, police said. The Norwalk teen, who police didn't identify due to his age, has been charged with fourth-degree larceny, fourth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny and third-degree trespass. Police released no further information on other possible suspects, even though the teen was charged with conspiracy in the theft. Stamford Police Association Kicks Off Annual Winter Coat Drive STAMFORD, Conn. -- Over the past eight years, the Stamford Police Association has had great success collecting winter coats for an annual drive. The winter months can be extremely difficult for many, specifically for those without winter coats. The association is accepting donations of coats until Dec. 22. Stamford Man Charged With Selling Fake Crack Cocaine STAMFORD, Conn. -- A drug dealer with no honor? What is the world coming to? Police said a man they questioned about an apparent drug deal they observed Monday afternoon first denied any illicit transactions and then said he did do a drug deal but only sold fake crack cocaine to his customer after police discovered what appeared to be two small bags of crack cocaine on him. Police said a test revealed that the crack cocaine was actually "beat" a term used for fake drugs. It didn't help city man Dwayne Davis, 19, as he was charged with misrepresenting a controlled substance.
