Stamford Police Find Passenger With Pellet Gun After Stopping Jaguar STAMFORD, Conn. -- A traffic stop of a blue Jaguar turned up a passenger with a pellet gun rifle, Stamford police said. Just before 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, Officers Michael Montanaro and Damien Rosa noticed a blue Jaguar cross a double yellow line on Henry Street in Stamford, Sgt. Jennifer Lynch said.  As officers stopped and approached the vehicle, they could see what appeared to be a black rifle leaning against the leg of a passenger in the vehicle, Lynch said. Norwalk Man, 79, Dies A Day After Falling From Building NORWALK, Conn. -- A 79-year-old Norwalk man died Wednesday as a result of his injuries from a fall from a roof on Tuesday afternoon, police said. Raymond LeDuc had been climbing off the roof of a building at 2 Broad St. onto a ladder just after 1 p.m. Tuesday when the ladder slid out, causing him to fall to the ground, police said.  The building appears to be a one-story light industrial building near the train tracks off Main Avenue.

Thieves Continue To Steal From Unlocked Vehicles, Wilton Police Warn WILTON, Conn. — A short 20-minute timespan was all a thief needed to steal a pair of women's wallets and $500 from an unlocked vehicle parked at 5 River Road in Wilton on Dec. 21, police said. The two wallets, which contained a total of three credit cards along with a copy of a Social Security card, were stolen sometime between 5:30 and 5:50 p.m., police said.  Several purchases were made the next morning in another town using the stolen credit cards, police said.

Dryer Fire Forces Three From Stamford Residence STAMFORD, Conn. -- Three people were forced out of their apartments after a fire near a basement dryer in the two-unit building on Colonial Road late Monday. Deputy Chief Eric Lorenz said firefighters were dispatched at 10:45 p.m. after a neighbor noticed smoke coming out of the dryer vent at 77 Colonial Road.
