Stamford Police Find Passenger With Pellet Gun After Stopping Jaguar STAMFORD, Conn. -- A traffic stop of a blue Jaguar turned up a passenger with a pellet gun rifle, Stamford police said. Just before 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, Officers Michael Montanaro and Damien Rosa noticed a blue Jaguar cross a double yellow line on Henry Street in Stamford, Sgt. Jennifer Lynch said. As officers stopped and approached the vehicle, they could see what appeared to be a black rifle leaning against the leg of a passenger in the vehicle, Lynch said. Wilton Man Arrested With Pot, $6K In Cash After Traffic Stop WILTON, Conn. -- A Wilton man's decision to blow through a stop sign wound up in him getting slapped with a pair of drug charges and the discovery of $6,420 in a lockbox on the backseat floor of his vehicle, police said. Police said a motorist went through the stop sign at the intersection of Belden Hill and Seir Hill Roads just after 10 p.m. on Dec. 21. When the officer approached the vehicle, the odor of marijuana could be detected, police said. Norwalk Man, 79, Dies A Day After Falling From Building NORWALK, Conn. -- A 79-year-old Norwalk man died Wednesday as a result of his injuries from a fall from a roof on Tuesday afternoon, police said. Raymond LeDuc had been climbing off the roof of a building at 2 Broad St. onto a ladder just after 1 p.m. Tuesday when the ladder slid out, causing him to fall to the ground, police said. The building appears to be a one-story light industrial building near the train tracks off Main Avenue.

Get Rid Of Unused, Expired Prescription Drugs At Norwalk Police HQ NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Police Department is calling on residents to get rid of any unused or expired prescription drugs by dropping them off at police headquarters. The department has a free drug drop box that is available 24 hours per day in the lobby at its 1 Monroe St. headquarters.

Easton Resident Startled When Front Door Kicked In; No Arrests Made EASTON, Conn. -- A Canterbury Lane resident called 911 after someone kicked in their front door Friday night, Easton police said. The deadbolt was broken on the front door just after 8 p.m., but no one entered the home, police said. K-9 units from the Fairfield and Monroe Police Departments were called in to assist with the investigation. No arrests have been made, and the incident is still under investigation.

Thieves Continue To Steal From Unlocked Vehicles, Wilton Police Warn WILTON, Conn. — A short 20-minute timespan was all a thief needed to steal a pair of women's wallets and $500 from an unlocked vehicle parked at 5 River Road in Wilton on Dec. 21, police said. The two wallets, which contained a total of three credit cards along with a copy of a Social Security card, were stolen sometime between 5:30 and 5:50 p.m., police said. Several purchases were made the next morning in another town using the stolen credit cards, police said.

Teen Arrested By Stamford Police After Attempted Car, House Burglaries STAMFORD, Conn. - Stamford Police made a game saving catch as they arrested a 16-year-old at Cubeta Stadium baseball field who was suspected in attempted break-ins. Police said that around 9 p.m. Tuesday a Hubbard Avenue homeowner looked out the back window and saw a black male attempting to open his car. Stamford Brothers Charged After Physical Dispute With Neighbor STAMFORD, Conn. -- Two brothers are facing charges after a dispute that began with one of them sending a text to a neighbor's girlfriend Tuesday night, Stamford Police said. Charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, second-degree threatening, breach of peace and third-degree assault is Curtis Williams, 31, of 23 Warren St. His bond was set at $5,000. Robert Williams, 30, 95 Dean St., was charged with third-degree assault and breach of peace. His bond was set at $2,500. Dryer Fire Forces Three From Stamford Residence STAMFORD, Conn. -- Three people were forced out of their apartments after a fire near a basement dryer in the two-unit building on Colonial Road late Monday. Deputy Chief Eric Lorenz said firefighters were dispatched at 10:45 p.m. after a neighbor noticed smoke coming out of the dryer vent at 77 Colonial Road. The first firefighters on scene saw flames coming through the vent and through a basement window they could see a fire in the basement. They were able to extinguish the fire quickly, Lorenz said.
