Paramus Bahama Breeze Honors Hackensack Scholarship Recipient PARAMUS, N.J. – Visit Bahama Breeze in Paramus from 6-9 p.m. Thursday to honor the first Comet Friendship Scholarship Recipient and Hackensack High School 2016 graduate Nada El Gazzar. Thursday’s celebration also will help the nonprofit organization begin its fundraising for a young woman from the class of 2017. Bahama Breeze will donate 25 percent of the proceeds to Comet Friendship Scholarship. Under the leadership of Grand Knight Larry Rivera, the money was donated to the following: Scholarships: Two Catholic high school scholarships of $500 each, seven college scholarships of $1,000 each and a $100 scholarship to the Dumont High School Scholarship Fund, for a total of $8,100. Lost Poughkeepsie Dog Returns To Family With Help From Facebook POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – A dog reported missing Saturday evening in Poughkeepsie was reunited with his family with some help from social media. PJ, a 5-year-old Shih Tzu who went missing near IBM Road in Poughkeepsie, was returned to his owner, Stevie Jay, on Sunday after a post on the Lost Pets of the Hudson Valley’s Facebook page reported that he was missing. Lost Pets of the Hudson Valley is dedicated to helping reunite lost pets with their families in the Hudson Valley and beyond.
