CT State Troopers Smash Allegedly Drunk Driver’s Window Connecticut State Police had to smash a window and use a taser on a 24-year-old man before charging him with alleged drunk driving.  The incident occurred in Middlesex County around 2:30 a.m., Saturday, June 22, on 1-91 northbound in Middletown between the rest area and Exit 20.  According to State Police, troopers found a black GMC Sierra pickup with a Massachusetts license plate parked in the right climbing lane and several damaged DOT traffic cones.  The truck's engine was running, and the driver was slumped over the steering wheel, state police said. CT Man With No ID Killed In Crash After Speeding In Opposite Lane: Police A Connecticut man was killed in a New York crash after allegedly speeding in the opposite lane of traffic and striking another vehicle before hitting a tree, police announced.  The crash happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, June 19 just before noon, when two cars collided on Route 311 just south of Caroline Drive in the town of Patterson, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. The New Haven County crash happened around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, in Branford. The New Haven County incident happened at around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, on northbound Route 8 in Waterbury. Arrest Made In CT Hit-Run That Killed Woman A Fairfield County man has been charged in a hit-run crash last year that killed a 74-year-old woman. The crash occurred in Stamford around 6:15 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023, on West Main St., near the junction with Alvord Lane. Stamford Police Sgt. Jeffrey Booth said at the time of the crash, Marie Jean-Charles, a 74-year-old Stamford resident, was crossing West Main Street from north to south.  She was struck in the eastbound travel lanes by a vehicle traveling at what is believed to be a high rate of speed, Booth said. The survey, conducted by Forbes, took a look at all 50 states ranking them from the highest number of road rage incidents -- Utah -- to the lowest, North Dakota.
