2 CT Men Found Dead In Lake After Canoe Overturns Two Connecticut men were found dead in a lake after their canoe overturned. The incident occurred in Tolland County in Bolton at Lower Bolton Lake on Wednesday, March 13. According to Paul Copleman, spokesperson for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, multiple fire departments responded with vessels and dive teams to search for the men. Dive teams recovered one man who was transported and pronounced dead at the hospital, Copleman said. Emergency responders recovered a second body during rescue efforts. Man Hospitalized After SUV Crashes Into CT Reservoir A 37-year-old Connecticut man remains in the hospital after the SUV he was driving plunged into an area reservoir. The incident took place in Hartford County around 11:55 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, on Lake Street in Vernon. According to Lt. Robert Marra of the Vernon Police, the man, who has not been identified, was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV on Lake Street when for some reason the vehicle veered off the roadway and into Risley Reservoir. Sixth Person Arrested For Savage Beating, Shooting Of Rival In Long-Standing Feud An 18-year-old man is the sixth person to be arrested for an August shooting and beating that police believe arose from a long-standing feud. On Tuesday, Sept. 29, Vernon Police arrested Trenton Merrill, 18, 157 Union St., Vernon, on the charges of attempted murder, operating a drug factory, and several other felonies, police said. Merrill is the suspected shooter, police said.
