Woman Falls 40 Feet From Stratford Bridge, Lands On Construction Barge A woman who was working on a Fairfield County bridge was seriously injured when she fell through a hole and landed 40 feet below on a construction barge. The incident took place in Stratford around 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 at the Devon Bridge, said Robert Daniel, assistant chief/fire marshal for the Stratford Fire Department. Man Suffering Medical Emergency Crashes Into Garage In Stratford A man suffering from a medical emergency crashed into a garage, causing it to collapse on top of the vehicle. The incident took place around 6:20 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 10 on Elm Street in Stratford when the 68-year-old man crashed a Honda hatchback into the garage, authorities said. Man Badly Burned During House Fire In Area Firefighters were able to save a person trapped inside a garage while the structure was on fire. The incident took place around 1:47 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 45 Mill Pond Road, said Stratford Assistant. Fire Chief/Fire Marshall Robert Daniel. When firefighters arrived on the scene heavy fire was visible inside the garage and extending up the exterior of the structure, Daniel said.
