20-Year-Old Woman Dies After Being Shot In New Haven
A 20-year-old Fairfield County woman was shot and killed in New Haven. The incident took place around 7:40 p.m., Saturday, May 15 at Sheffield Avenue, in the Newhallville neighborhood. Responding officers located and secured the crime scene, New Haven PD Sergeant Shayna Kendall said. A short time later, a 20-year-old woman was dropped off at Yale-New Haven Hospital by a private car, Kendall said. The woman, a Bridgeport resident, was suffering from a single gunshot wound. Police ID Teen Pulled From Frozen New Haven Pond
A teen who has been missing since last year has been identified as the person pulled from a frozen Connecticut pond. Brandon Jenkins, age 18, was found Saturday, Jan. 30, when a passerby called 911 to report a body in the ice-covered Duck Pond of Edgewood Park in New Haven, New Haven Police said. Five Nabbed For Distributing Narcotics In New Haven
Five area men have been arrested for allegedly running a large distribution ring of heroin and crack cocaine in New Haven. The five men were arrested on Thursday, Nov. 19 on federal narcotics charges, said John H. Durham, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut. According to statements made in court, these prosecutions are part of a coordinated law enforcement effort to address rising drug-related violence in the Newhallville section of New Haven.
