Officials announced that all fall sports will have seasons this year, including football, with certain COVID-19-related protocols put in place to help curtail the spread of the virus. Covid-19: Specifics, Starting Dates Released For CT Spring HS Sports Student-athletes in Connecticut received more clarity on what the spring sports season is going to look like on Thursday as the state moves forward through the COVID-19 pandemic. The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference released its final plan for spring sports on Thursday, March 11, after meeting with athletic directors from across the state in the morning. The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) laid out its plan to kickstart winter sports as the state continues combating the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the CIAC, the first practice date for winter sports has been scheduled for no earlier than Tuesday, Jan. 19 - after the MLK Day holiday - with games set to start on or after Monday, Feb. 8. Covid-19: Ciac Postpones Start Of Winter HS Season Interscholastic sports in Connecticut are on hold for at least the next two months as the state continues to see a spike in COVID-19 infections. The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference Board of Control announced on Tuesday, Nov. 17 that all winter sports have been postponed until at least Jan. 19, 2021, due to the pandemic.
