Drunk CT Man Caught Driving With Shredded Burning Tire: Police A man faces drunk driving charges after authorities caught him traveling with a shredded, burning tire in Fairfield County, police said.  The arrest resulted from an incident on Tuesday, July 4 just before 3:20 a.m., when a Darien Police Department officer noticed a heavily damaged car driving on Post Road (Route 1). Talking Heads Drummer Hit By Drunk Driver In Fairfield County A famous drummer and rocker from the Talking Heads and his wife barely escaped being killed when they were hit by a wrong-way drunk driver in Fairfield County. Chris Franz, age 70, and his wife Tina Weymouth, age 71, both of New York City, took to Facebook to describe the crash on Route 1 (Post Road) near the border of the Town of Fairfield and Bridgeport.
