Waterbury Man Flees Crash, Nabbed With Drugs, Cash, Police Say
A Connecticut motorist who allegedly fled the scene of a crash was caught hiding with drugs and cash, police said.
The incident occurred in Ridgefield at around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, in the area of 786 Ridgebury Road.
According to Capt. Jeff Raines of the Ridgefield Police, officers responded to a motorcycle accident report and found the vehicle lying in the roadway but no rider.
During a search of the area, officers found a jacket and a backpack in a nearby yard containing a "large amount" of narcotics and a firearm, Raines said.

CT Convicted Felon Charged With Having Assault-Style Guns
A Fairfield County man was busted for allegedly having several guns, including an assault rifle and semi-automatic pistol.
Anthony Hicks, age 42, of Stamford, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 18 following an investigation by the Stamford Police Department's Narcotics and Organized Crime unit.
According to Assistant Chief Rich Conklin, during the investigation, agents learned that Hicks, who is a convicted felon, was storing multiple firearms, including a Draco-stye assault rifle in his apartment.

A man and a woman were charged after police said the man was seen selling "eight balls" of crack cocaine to the woman in Connecticut.
Bashaun Faison, age 31, and 52-year-old Michele Annette Abbott, both of Torrington, were arrested on Wednesday, Sept 21, in Litchfield County, Connecticut State Police said.
While investigating reports about narcotics sales in the area of the Torrington Towers Housing Complex, detectives saw Faison selling two "eight balls" of crack cocaine to Abbott, police said.

A convicted felon has been nabbed for an attempted armed home invasion while the family was inside the home.
The incident took place around 4:30 p.m., Sunday, July 31 in Waterbury.
Officers responded on a report a man was attempting to force entry into a residential home with a firearm while a family was inside, said Lt. Robert Davis, of the Waterbury Police.

A Western Massachusetts man has been arrested after allegedly being caught with 1,500 bags of heroin and more than $250,000 in cash.
Hampden County resident Alvaro Flores, age 61, of Holyoke was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 26 following a multi-agency investigation that led to a search warrant of his home, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police.
During the search agents seized more than 1500 bags of heroin and a loaded firearm, Walsh said.
