Show Your Trivia Knowledge In Support Of 4-CT And Connecticut

Which are the two other names Russia’s St. Petersburg has been known as? Kaliningrad and Petroshagrad? Stalingrad and Nevograd? Or Petrograd and Leningrad?

“Twist and Shout” was a hit for the Beatles, but who recorded it first? The Isley Brothers? Chubby Checker? Or the Everly Brothers?

Think you know? Prove it.

Not just for Jeopardy-contestant wannabes, the Connecticut COVID-19 Charity Connection (4-CT) is holding its second Trivia Night sponsored by People's United Bank on Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. via Zoom. With the second COVID wave upon us, 4-CT’s Trivia Night offers safe and social entertainment for a good cause. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.

Teams of two to five members can register for $200 — register soon to secure your spot. All registration fees go toward supporting the organization’s 4-CT Card Program, which assists vulnerable communities excluded from federal financial COVID relief through prepaid debit cards distributed through and supported by a network of trusted partners.

The first Trivia Night, held July 29, raised almost $15,000 and proved to be a fun event for all involved.

“In the midst of a rather dark year, trivia night bought us together virtually and in a socially distant way for an evening of laughs, joy, cocktails and a general sense that all will be well,” said past participant Renee Lemieux. “It was a welcomed escape and I look forward to the next one.”

The Big Quiz Thing, the host and provider of corporate and private quiz events since 2002, is known for turning the friendly bar-trivia formula into a big-time entertainment event and will be hosting 4-CT’s Trivia Night again.

Since its inception in March, 4-CT has raised over $18 million to aid organizations that help those most impacted by COVID-19, including healthcare workers, food banks, and more.

Go to 4-CT Trivia Night to register your team. Visit 4-CT to learn more about the organization. Bragging rights are on the line.

(And in case you were wondering: Petrograd and Leningrad are other names for St. Petersburg and the Isley Brothers recorded "Twist and Shout" first.)
