Update: Small Plane Crash Lands On NY Highway; Troopers Seeking Witness Video
This story has been updated. A small plane was forced to make a crash landing on a Long Island highway. Emergency crews were called at around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, after the single-engine Cherokee Archer landed on the eastbound right shoulder of the Southern State Parkway near exit 33 in Babylon. Two people who were onboard the aircraft were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to New York State Police. A Westchester man faces assault charges after striking the driver of the vehicle they were both in while traveling on a highway in Fairfield County, police said. A woman received minor injuries after she was crashed into by another woman who blew through a red light while driving an alleged stolen Department of Transportation truck. CT State Police Preparing For Major Nor'easter Bringing Heavy Snowfall, Strong Winds
As one of the strongest snowstorms in years heads for the region, the Connecticut State Police is warning drivers to be prepared and stay off the roadways if possible. The storm, which is forecast to arrive in the late afternoon on Wednesday, Dec. 16, is expected to dump up to a foot or more of snow and produce wind gusts of up to 45 miles per hour.
