A police officer in the area has been arrested for allegedly using excessive force with a woman who was handcuffed, intoxicated, and under arrest. Flanked by his lawyer, Mount Vernon Police officer Ryan Hughes turned himself in to the Westchester District Attorney’s Office in White Plains, where he was charged with reckless endangerment after allegedly manhandling a woman in his custody. Man Charged With Arson For Involvement In Port Chester House Fire
A man has been charged with arson for his alleged involvement in a house fire that took dozens of firefighters in Westchester hours to extinguish. Michael Johnson 45, of White Plains, was arrested Wednesday, Jan. 30, and charged with arson for allegedly starting the raging fire in the vacant home on Smith Street in Port Chester, that took place around 5 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29, according to the Port Chester Police.
