Two Women Arrested After Suspicious Packages Left At CT Capitol
Two wanted women were taken into police custody following a months-long investigation into suspicious packages that were left on the grounds of the Connecticut State Capitol. Police in Connecticut announced the arrests of Hartford County resident Erin Melocowsky, age 19, of Manchester, and New London County resident Olivia Rae Rinkes, age 30, of North Stonington, who are facing disorderly conduct charges and have each been released on a $5,000 bail following the investigation. White Powder Incident Prompts Evacuation Of State Office Building
Police are investigating at least four incidents involving white powder or suspicious packages Wednesday that led to evacuations and street closures. Two are believed to be baby powder, officials said. The first package was discovered around 11 a.m. Wednesday at the state's Dept. of Education office, at 450 Columbus Blvd. in Hartford, state police said. State police said they immediately began to evacuate the building and blocked off surrounding streets including Columbus Boulevard and Talcott Street. The NYPD Emergency Services Unit led the charge to Trump Tower after several suspicious packages reportedly were found early Friday evening. Fifth Avenue from 57th to 56th Street was closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic following the rush-hour discoveries. The Trumps had just arrived at Bedminster at the time.

Bomb Threat Leads To Bridgeport Health Center Evacuation
A Bridgeport health care clinic was briefly evacuated Thursday morning after a "suspicious" package was delivered, according to Bridgeport Police officials.According to police, a call came into dispatch around 9:30 a.m. concerning a suspicious package that had been delivered by DHL to the Bridgeport Community Health Center, at 982 East Main, that was "suppose to contain a watch," but the caller felt that the package was too large, police said.
