Traffic Stop Leads To Chase, Discovery Of Pot Stash, Handgun In Stamford Illegally tinted windows led to the arrest of a Stamford man for alleged possession of marijuana and a loaded handgun thanks to the actions of a quick-thinking police officer. The incident began 9 p.m., Sunday, July 21, when Stamford Police Officer Kara Hames was patrolling the city’s east-side when she spotted an illegally parked vehicle on Shippan Avenue, which also appeared to have an illegal tint on the vehicle’s windows.  As Officer Hames approached the vehicle, it sped off, the Stamford Police said.
