Detective Who Cracked Murder Cases Named Norwalk Police Officer Of Year Detective Christopher Imparato --- who helped crack two cold murder cases last year -- has been named 2017 Norwalk Police Officer of the Year. Imparato joined the Norwalk Police Department in February 2009.  He has a Bachelor’s Degree from Marist College in Criminal Justice.  Detective Imparato worked in the Patrol Division until his promotion in April 2014.  He has received two Meritorious Commendations in his career as well as a Unit Citation.
