Greenwich Catholic Tennis Edges Rye, 4-3

Greenwich Catholic tennis picked up a big league win last week, edging Rye Country Day, 4-3.

In a hard-fought and well-played match, Michael Blevin picked up a 6-4 win in the No. 1 singles match over Sam Snead. Underclassman Jorge Gonzalez won a close 6-4 match over a steady Grant Carey. Sophia Gould continued the streak for Catholic, winning 6-4 over Daniel Boyd. She hit numerous winners from her favorite baseline positions. Her younger brother Peter Gould, just called up from the junior varsity team, continued the winning family way by beating Oscar Roslinson, 6-3.

Greenwich Catholic Varsity and JV continue with a full schedule of home games this week.
