The crash took place around 3:09 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, at 1252 King St., between the two school buses, one from Royal Coach Line school bus with just a driver, and a private bus operated by Countywide Transportation of Yonkers, which was carrying nine people, Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz.
The injured, including seven adults with special needs, are reported to be in good to fair condition, said Slusarz.
A preliminary investigation has determined that one bus was traveling northbound and one was traveling southbound when they collided, nearly head-on, police said.
Several people stopped to help the injured while Police, Fire, and EMS were responding to the scene.
Slusarz said police are continuing their investigation into what caused the crash.
