A former public relations consultant joined the ranks of the Greenwich Police Department in a swearing-in ceremony at Town Hall on Tuesday.
Patricia S. Kennedy, a Riverside resident, is a graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford and an alumnus of the University of Colorado at Boulder and Wellesley College. She also attended Esmond International in Paris as a design major and the only American student.
Before becoming a public relations consultant for her own business, Kennedy worked for several companies, including many in Japan. She is conversant in French and Spanish and has knowledge of Japanese and Dutch.
Kennedy holds a Marksman 1 Certification for the proficient use and disassembly of firearms and is a volunteer with the police department's Community and Police Partnership East Sector.
After her swearing-in, Kennedy will be required to complete an 18-month probationary period.
