Greenwich Library Offers Health Programs, Medicare Seminar

GREENWICH, Conn. -- This month, the Greenwich Library is offering a complimentary seminar on Medicare options and, together with the Greenwich Senior Center, the memory workshop series, Super Noggin.

The Greenwich Library Health Information Center provides privacy and access to resources and information on a variety of health-related topics. 

The center houses more than 100 reference books, 40 periodicals, four medical databases, a health-focused bulletin board and two dedicated printer-enabled work stations. 

A full-time health librarian is available to help patrons utilize library resources from 6:30-7:45 p.m. Thursdays.

Mystified by Medicare? 

Unsure if you’re paying too much for Medicare coverage? Or worse, paying too little and receiving less than optimal coverage?

Does it make sense to review your existing coverage during Medicare's annual election period? 

Learn how to evaluate the different options and plans to find the coverage that meets your needs and budget. Jennifer Lavelli is an AHIP-certified Medicare solutions advisor and long-term care specialist. A frequent lecturer in the tri-state area, she helps people understand and plan for Medicare and long-term care. This free program will be from 5:30-7 p.m. Mondays beginning Sept. 28 in the library's meeting room.

Super Noggin -- a brain-health series for ages 55-plus will be offered for nine straight Mondays from Sept. 28 through Nov. 30. The fee is $20 and the class size is limited to 15 participants. To register for this program, please contact Suzanne Testani, the Greenwich Senior Center's program coordinator, at 203-862-6721.
