Celebrate Earth Day Month in Greenwich

Greenwich kicks off its official Earth Day month on Saturday with a forum on “The Energy Conscious Home: Less Cost and More Comfort.”

Each year, First Selectman Peter Tesei proclaims Earth Day Celebration Month and the Conservation Commission puts together events on that theme. “This year’s calendar is very impressive,” said Denise Savageau, director of the commission. “Whether you are interested in attending a lecture, taking a hike, or making your home more energy efficient, the calendar has something for everyone.”

Tesei will open the forum Saturday at 10 a.m. at Greenwich High School. It will be followed by presentations and exhibits on such topics as home energy audits, cost-saving rebate programs, energy-efficient lighting and appliances, solar hot water and electricity choices. The forum is hosted by the Conservation Commission, Audubon Greenwich and the Garden Education Center of Greenwich. For further information, go the the Green Greenwich website.
