Greenwich Actress Tracee Elllis Ross Gets Golden Globe Nod

GREENWICH, Conn. — Onetime Greenwich resident — and noted actor — Tracee Ellis Ross is among the nominees for a Golden Globe Award this awards season.

She was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy television show for her role as Rainbow Johnson on ABC's "black-ish." The nomination was announced Monday morning in Los Angeles. 

The other nominees in the category are Rachel Bloom for "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend;" Julia Louis-Dreyfus for "Veep;" Sarah Jessica Parker for "Divorce;" Issa Rae for "Insecure;" and Gina Rodriguez for "Jane the Virgin."

Her show "black-ish" was also nominated for Best Musical or Comedy Series and her co-star Anthony Anderson was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy.

Ross, 44, is the daughter of Diana Ross and Robert Ellis Silberstein and grew up in Greenwich. She has also been on "Girlfriends" and "Reed Between the Lines."

Meryl Streep, with eight Golden Globes and 29 nominations, will be honored with the Cecil B. deMille Award on the show for her body of work.

The 74th annual Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast from 8 to 11 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, hosted by Jimmy Fallon on NBC from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
